Agree on the fuge even small - it’s not fuge volume alone flow and light intensity matter a lot too. I have fuge using in tank basket in center compartment of my im nuvo 10 with the Chaeto max light growing chaeto and red ogo, works brilliantly. So we’ll I took nitrate to zero and got dinos- so pay attention and reduce photoperiod!
I’d also used the first chamber with an in tank basket for Chaeto too and it works good there too! Now I use UV in first chamber.
