I’m sorry for pestering you guys I’m sure you all have better things to do than help an idiot not kill his pet I bet you guys feel like Albert Einstein explaining this to me because of how much I clearly don’t know I’m sorry for wasting your time.

I am so sorry for taking on this responsibility without through research, I’m going to do everything I can to help them survive and thrive
First and foremost; start reaching out in any way you can to find an established marine aquarium (or someone’s filtration sump, for that matter) you can get them into.

Failing that, you’ll likely be doing a lot of partial water changes over the next month or two as your primary means of keeping ammonia levels under control….

Someone else may be able to give you a better idea of a recommended water change % and timing than myself; I’ve personally always waited a full two months before even taking a water test and considering adding livestock to my salt water aquariums! Again, patience is key, especially when establishing the beneficial bacteria!

Ok, also I can assure it’ll be a LONG time until I get any marine animal ever my mantis shrimp and my two damsels are the only things I’m keeping for a long time

It takes a while to safely have livestock without really knowing what you’re doing! Spend that time figuring the hobby out! Definitely watch some bull reef supply YouTube videos, they’re very educational!

in tap water its not nitrates you have to worry about its all the heavy metals chlorine and other crap in it

I sincerely hope your post was rage bait. I’m no Einstein but it doesn’t take one to know you likely killed your poor fish by now. I hope you never had fish or gave them back
