BRS OVERLY PRICED-
People if you do enough research you will find the same wholesalers they use. Like i have, that will save the HOBBIEST (you) MONEY. for example i buy 100% pure calcium hydroxide for 2 buck a lb they sell it for 10 dollars a pound. you can buy soda ash for .80 per pound and they sell it for 5 bucks a pound. and there is many other examples does the word PHARMA slapped on a plastic jug with a brs sticker on worth all that extra money. imo NO. share a link if you have found something cheaper then they sell.
lets talk about this

How far do you take this? Most of the additives we use can be made/mixed yourself, much cheaper, but maybe less convenient.

So.. How much soda ash do have to buy to get that price? Pretty sure most people don't want 50# sacks of chemicals laying around their house. Usually things like this are bought in bulk at the wholesale end. Then distributed and repackaged into consumer sizes. So to me that makes the price justifiable most of the time. Not only that alot of reefers just don't want to participate in this hobby at that level of amateur chemist either. I get saving money but if my goal were to save a little money the first thing I would do would be to put my reef tanks on the curb and find myself a cheaper hobby.
