Is making / mixing and storing water outdoors possible?

Looking for some info regarding a mixing station placement. There are no basements in my area, and my house is somewhat small.


If I were to get some black Rubbermaid trash cans, and possibly paint them even MORE black..could I make and store my water outdoors?

Any good setups to look into for this situation? I have an extremely shady spot under my covered patio, but it's still West Texas come summer time.

I understand algae prevention is the goal. I will be making RO with a BRS 6 stage unit.

First of all, welcome to R2R. Yes it's possible but in my opinion you would want to build some type of enclosure for your water storage containers. I'll point you to a thread that will provide an excellent example of what I'm referring to. Check out post #11.
