I bought this coral one month ago and everything was fine until I noticed it started whitening today. My parameters are stable, I don't understand why it is dying.

Should I cut it above the dead part to try to save it from dying?

Thanks

Personally I would snap off a branch or two and glue it somewhere else. Tomorrow you will know for sure if the white part spreads, but in my experience, your coral is rtn and will turn white and die. I see 2 white parts on your coral, and turning white from the bottom up is the bad sign.

That's what I thought :(
Should I cut way above the white part? To prevent spread

Personally I would hold on until tomorrow, make sure it really is rtn, and not just shadowing as mentioned above. I don't want to give you bad advice.

I was already thinking about cutting it, I will see the progression tomorrow

Problem I see is that it's turning white from the base along with those two branches but it's the base I'm worried about.

What lights do you have, or better yet, do you know the par?

I don't know the par unfortunately, I use reefled 160. I bought it from a tank with high phosphates and it was quite pale, since I put it in my tank it's way greener but the base is turning white.

The dead part didn't progress since yesterday

You can try lathering the white area and a little over the live tissue with superglue. I’ve had that stave off RTN in the past.

Is it better than cutting above the white area?
