Recently got shipped a Hammer from my LFS and one of its heads seems dead. I'm not 100% sure it is but it looks like it. Will the other head be okay? Orb should I bring this up with the LFS

If it came like that I would definitely bring it up.

So, the head on the right looks nice, puffy and otherwise healthy. The one on the left, not so much. Did it look like this when you purchased the piece?

Did you see the photo and it was for 2 heads?
If they sold it as one head. Then it’s fine, usually it’s bad to cut off the dead head skeleton if it’s too close to the other head. Risk injuring the other head.

It’s got a lot of coralline so it’s probably been a dead head for a while. The other head looks fine, it’s a hit stressed. But if you keep things stable it’ll grow into a full colony of its own

I agree with this guy^
If sold as 1 head, you don’t lose anything but if sold as 2 then they ripped you off
