So about 3 weeks ago I got this neon green Sinulara - it has a decent sized black spot on the base of the stem from Looked like a wound from being on a rock or possibly from fragging.
Anyways this slowly went away and this new brownish looking stuff took its place. (First thing I thought was BJD but I don’t think that is it)
The flesh underneath it looks completely fine and the leather looks great.
(This pic was taken about 20 minutes after lights turned on, the leather is almost always spread out and happy).

any thoughts ?

Ive seen those spots on leathers before, usually it can be scrubbed off. The last time my toadstool had one i kept forgetting to scrub it and it went away on its own (or my cuc took care of it). Its not a cut or wound, in my experience its algae buildup from lack of flow or appropriate cuc but it most certainly can cause tissue die off if it gets bad enough. If i had to give you a "worry" score, its 85% fine but keep an eye on it.

Hey! Your leather coral will periodically shed its skin in order to promote new growth... No need to worry about it. Blow it off with a turkey baster or scrub it off like ahiggins suggested.
