Is my light too close/strong?

Hey guys I’m getting a little paranoid that my light may be frying corals? My light is about 7-8 inches from the water line. My torch still doesn’t seem to extend after fixing a flow issue, and one of my Acans turned whitish. It used to be green with red stripes. My light is an AI prime 16, I’ll include my schedule and strength. Let me know what you guys think, thanks in advance.

This is a topic that is very hard to tell with out a PAR meter. See if you can borrow one from your LFS or rent one from Bulk reef supply. This will take all the guess work out of this question and any answers will be throwing darts at a board blindfolded. I can say corals will survive longer under low light conditions, when light is too bright or they are not in the correct par range they will bleach pretty quick.

I agree with you completely. OP, to be safe you may want to k8ck down the lights a bit until you can put a meter in your tank.

That is a popular light search and you can find some data on what other people have measured.

you can rent one from brs?
 
What is the percentage you are at when it’s just normal lighting if you don’t mind me asking. I’m running them at your peak all day
Its at 80% 10 hours a day. It ramps up and down one hour each, so 12 hours total program.
