I am currently coming off of cycling velvet out of my tank, getting ready to start stocking again. I currently only have fish, no coral, but looking to start adding coral once I get some more fish added back in. I seem to have a consistent issue keeping ph “high” though, and wanted to know if this is fine before I start adding in coral. I currently am generally around 7.8, occasionally get a reading of 7.7; is this fine? I was also wondering if the ph will raise once I have growing coral due to photosynthesis, and if so, how much I should expect this change to be? I use pro reef salt and keep salinity at 1.025. I was also curious, because I plan on adding a few softies, do they NEED higher ph like stony coral do? They don’t calcify, so I wasn’t sure? I could maybe add those in first, and try to get the ph raised a little from photosynthesis from them, before adding in the LPS.
