Just notice it this afternoon after coming home from work. Man, I sure hope it's ok. Anything I should do?

Really weird that it isn't deflated or shows any receiding tissue anywhere else. There are no signs of tissue decaying through brown mucus, loss of color, or anything else that would indicate the coral being unhappy.

I could imagine this hole being a potential infection risk. I would keep a iodine dip ready just in case it actually gets infected. I'm not sure I would dip it already as it looks otherwise fine and stressing it will certainly not be beneficial at the moment.

I have not seen Scolys splitting that way, so I doubt it's on purpose. Definitely keep an eye on it and take it as a hint that the coral might not be 100% happy in the tank for some reason.

I don't have hermit crab. I have only 1 black clown and 1 royal gramma.
Is it because I don't feed it enough? I feed it once a month with oyster eggs and frozen mysis shrimp.
Oh man, this is stressful. The scoly is my tank show piece for the past 8 years.

Most organisms eat frequently in small amounts. Feeding it once a month a large chunk might not be the best solution.

I think you might want to feed it more frequently in smaller amounts. Even the granular LPS dry food should be better than no food at all. I currently have a tiny Scoly button that I feed a single grain of Nyos LPS Power each day. I'm additionally feeding Nyos Lyq-Red and Reef Roids but you would need to use a polyp booster or it might not catch a lot of it. There are cheaper products available which are probably just as good.
