I think those might be the eggs of an unwanted guest. They usually release sperm and eggs at the same time, or a bit of the tentacle will detach and attach to substrate elsewhere to form a new colony.
How do you know those are hammer eggs and not from another creature? Not being snarky, genuinely curious.
