I'm rebuilding my 65g after a long hiatus away from reefing. I'm finding that some of my equipment has failed in storage... One such item is my return pump.

I'm replacing my Danner Mag5 with a Sicce 3.0, but the connections are different. I'm trying to make use of my current plumbing setup, and a 3/4" male threaded to 1/2" barb fitting would fit the bill perfectly.

I don't know what's happened to my Lowe's and Home Depots, but I can't find any sch 40 or 80 PVC barb items. at all.

The closest I could find is THIS irrigation fitting, reportedly made of Polyoxymethylene (POM).

Is that a reef safe material?

I've had the same issues. Been out for around 7 years and cannot find squat at the big box stores. I'm no expert but I would use that in place of anything I've had sitting dry in storage. It can't fail any faster than the dry rot stuff you had before. (or at least that's how I would describe all my old equipment!)
