Hi Experts,

Notices that Hippo Tang is developing a whitish coloration around the mouth and bally only at night.

It is generally healthy and eating well, the coloration will be gone by morning. Is this something that i should be worried about?

Thanks.

The tang has some minor head and lateral line erosion pitting (the small holes in front of its eyes). The pale mouth and belly is more likely fading over time due to captivity, I have a group of large ones that began to do that, losing the intense blue starting at the head and gradually moving back. I don't know what the cause is, most likely dietary.
Many fish will fade at night and then color up during the day....

What are you feeding it? Also have the holes changed color or size? White at night is normal lots of fish pale when sleeping
Thank you very much. As it is my mixed tank, it eats almost anything i trow into the tank..

Hi Jay, thank you very much. Anything I should be doing about the HLLE?

For the HLLE, just give the fish the best conditions possible and avoid using carbon in the filters.
