I noticed this pinkish color forming on my snail's shell that wasn't there yesterday. I also noticed a couple days ago that my snail was taking its shell off but put it back on before I could get close enough to get a pic of it (maybe it saw me coming and didn't want to be seen naked lol). I don't know if these are connected but I thought I should bring it up just in case. Is this something I should worry about or be happy (like a sign of growth)?

At the moment I only have this one snail in my 20g tank but was planning to get at least a couple more in the near future. Now I'm a little nervous to add anything more if this one could be sick. Any help and advice you all can give will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I didn't know a snail can leave it's shell. Maybe cleaning house or skinny dipping:) Wish I could help you.

Wow, I think I just answered my own question lol. I saw it move onto the sand and got a look at the top of it. It looks like it is growing a new shell under the old one. I'm assuming the old one will just pop off when the new one is finished growing?
