Can you clarify what you mean by this? Would you want to include single device controllers like Inkbird temperature controllers (which could get long given most DC pumps have their own controller of some sort) or do you mean controllers that have a bit less range than the big ones (Apex, Profilux, Hydros)?

Any separate controller which is designed to control any other brand of device. A single control function is fine.

This gives a more clear picture for how someone might build a tank without going overboard.
