Hi,

Is there such a beast? Small pump which you can attach like 1/2” O.D. tubing on the intake?

Reasoning, I don’t want to remove my tank lid to do water changes, I just stick the hose in the water.
Pump is not submersed in the water, only the hose.

I have been scooping out water with yogurt container.

Is that possible with a powerhead?

I use a small Cobalt inline pump. But I put the pump in the water and pump out my water with it. I doesn't not stay in the tank. I suppose if you wanted to get crafty with plumbing you could make some sort of contraption with it worked in there.

You would have to some how prime the pump. You couldn’t just stick a hose in. You could just use something like this.
