Is there anything safe with a Niger trigger?

My husband just had to have a Niger trigger and I can't find anything that he won't pick on.

What size tank? Any tang or angels should be fine. As well as wrasse, goby, blenny, damsel, clowns, should all be fine.

Niger triggers are generally coral safe, as are md sized fish and larger.

He killed my maroon clown, he's in a 75 gallon with a yellow tang, lawnmower blenny, one electric blue damsel, and a chocolate chip sea star, hermit crabs and snails. I'm afraid to put anything else in there, he's a bully

I had a cardinal fish in there but I moved her to my 90 gallon reef tank just to be sure.

In my experience, it varies from fish to fish.......I had to remove my last Niger due to aggression. At the same time, I have kept them without any problems at all. IMO, you may want to see if you can remove him, and trade him for another if possible. It also helps if the Niger can be added to the tank last.

He was the last fish to be added, the rest were in there for quite a while before him and has established their territories, he was fine for about a month and all of a sudden he wants to bite at everything, I'm waiting for him to mess with my yellow tang next, she will give him a good fight if he tries

The recommended min tank size is 180 gallons. They are listed as aggressive, a newly introduced fish will not show it's true aggression until it matures and tries to stake out a territory. The fish is not a bully that is it's nature.

Unfortunately he will continue to mess with the other fish regardless if the tang beats up on him lol. Maybe trade him him in and try a Blue Throat Trigger? If he has his heart on a Niger, I would just try another unless you are willing to put up with his attitude :-)

IME; some triggers play nicely, some are pure killers. It varies from fish to fish.

I have mine with other aggressive fish n seems to be fine. Tomato clown, domino damsel, humu trigger, cowfish and a wrasse thats always hiding because of both of my triggers. The most agressive fish is the humu trigger n picked on most of my fish except my small niger trigger. But i agree with humblefish. I lucked out with my niger but it can be because he is small now idk

He's going back to my LFS this weekend. I have a lawnmower blenny, yellow tang, electric blue damsel, chocolate chip seastar, and hermit crabs and turbo snails, what would be something good to add? I'm fine with small fish, I don't need anything big but I would like something with personality and color, I'm even up for a small school

The tang and blue damsels are considered semi-aggressive, and may resume these roles once the Niger is gone. Make sure what you get is able to stand up to them. I'm spelling this wrong, but the Malanouse (?) wrasse would be a good choice. They are active, pretty and able to hold their own. If I can think of the right name I'll post it here again. :(
