There are multiple varieties of rhodactis. This is the green hairy mushroom variety. Very common. Can be invasive. Pretty, though.I have a few rhodactis... this one has tentacles that stretch out further than rhodactis or racordia
Two different species. Both are Rhodactis genus. As I said, there are numerous Rhodactis species. You have two different species of Rhodactis. Just do a quick Google search with the information I've provided and you'll find countless examples. These are the rhodactis in my tank the other don't resemble at all thats why I'm asking this on has tentacles like galaxea

Their close to some peppermint acans. But they're on a rock by themselves and from the looks of it they split to multiply... But thanks for the heads upThese are super invasive as a heads up. And they will sting or annoy neighbour corals
Yup. They will split like crazy. Try to keep em on their own island. Almost as bad as Xenia lolTheir close to some peppermint acans. But they're on a rock by themselves and from the looks of it they split to multiply... But thanks for the heads up
I hope there not that bad. Rhacordia is a like in my tank so I don't mind but these thinhs get up.to 8 inchesYup. They will split like crazy. Try to keep em on their own island. Almost as bad as Xenia lol
Just be careful if they start proliferating like crazy and remove as needed.I hope there not that bad. Rhacordia is a like in my tank so I don't mind but these thinhs get up.to 8 inches
This is interesting. Out of curiosity, what are your nutrient readings in your system? Never heard of these things not being invasive lol.I have normal looking ricordia and 1 green hairy mushroom. The normal looking ones reproduce pretty aggressively. The green hairy not so much. I added three and only one lasted long term and has grown large but has never reproduced. It's been in the tank for probably close to 2 years. Funny thing is the green hairy came from a tank that was torn down because of an invasion of them that took over the tank. Just goes to show how things can grow so differently in different tanks.
I had the normal green ones for 17 months and i almost get a new one every month. It went from 1 to 12 or 13 I wouldn't call that invasive though my gsp is invasive...This is interesting. This tank has been really weird through the years. For the longest time I couldn't keep gsp alive or even zoas. 6 years later I add some gsp and have it covering the back wall and some zoas I don't even remember adding are staring to grow. This is interesting. Very nice. The ricordea growing better than these mushrooms is a bonus lol. This tank has been really weird through the years. Tank is mature and super stable so no don't test often. Last test 1/30/24

Calcium 440
Alk 8.3 tested today
This is the lone hairy mushroom
And the recordia that have no problem reproducing. Have a new colony starting on the other end of the tank on top of an orange monti cap chunk that broke off
