I have had this firefish for a couple months. He is active, and hungry. Likes to be right out front until night time regulating the tank. My wife noticed a bulge on him today and I have to admit it is there. I am not sure if this is a disease or just a full belly because I recently added LRS nano. Look at the pick if you are willing and let me know. As you follow the ventral wall from the pectoral fin posteriorily you see a little bulge. There is no discoloration or change in behavior. He puts out plenty of dark turds, usually right at feeding time.

Just took a close look at my two, and there's no bump until you get nearer to the anal vent. Both have a very small bumb there.

Has your firefish been prophylactially treated for intestinal worms with Prazipro + Metro, or General Cure?

I do not remember this fish having that bump before. If I can catch him I have metro and general on hand. I am just not sure this is a disease yet.

You could try feeding a piece of a boiled pea to see if he’s, um, backed up.

Otherwise, if you have focus you can soak his food in general cure + focus and feed him it right where he is (no catching needed). Just feed small amounts at a time, no more than he can eat.

I did not know you could use those in the main tank. He would likely eat it. He has been eating a lot. I got him hooked on the PE pellets so I can go out of town and then added nano for some of the fish that don't like the pellets and he gorges on both. Will fish continue to eat if constipated?
