Hello all! I’m in the early stages of stocking and have a clean up crew of 12 dwarf hermits and 2 emerald crabs. This is the second one of these I’ve found in as many weeks. Is it a molt or is somebody killing these hermits? I don’t see any empty shells aside from the extras I put in for the hermits. The only other fish are two very small maroon clowns.

Hi Chris, that’s exactly what it is. If you look around your tank you’ll find the hermit in a new shell. If it were a corpse, you’d see the other cleanup crew feasting on it.
