Hello, I’m new to this forum, and new to the saltwater aquarium scene. I have a batchelors degree in aquaculture, so I’m not a stranger to the science, but I am not knowledgeable on the finer details of the hobby, specifically glass tanks. Is this caulking issue a legitimate issue and insurmountable. Looking to buy used. Is this a stay away situation? I don’t want 75 gallons of water on my wood floor. It’s a Waterbox 100.4.

This is definitely worthy of pause!

— What’s shown is the top corner of that structural glass:glass silicone seam, peeling away from the glass!

This can be caused by several things, but most-likely in this case would be filling the tank up without properly leveling/supporting it, leading to a twisting force in that location!

There are several methods which can be used to reinforce this area, which might be wise given that it is a completely rimless tank!

— I personally wouldn’t want it in my house without at least adding some internal glass reinforcement to that area!

Rimless, I have a 15-gallon and 20-gallon Innovative Marine, and a 24-gallon AquaTop. That is my maximum confirmed without being Euro braced. My 159-gallon tanks are Euro braced top 'and' bottom. If you are just getting started and have your choice, I would go for something Euro braced... Function over form = peace of mind! Best wishes.
