What’s up everyone! I was wondering if I am correct in thinking this is a sponge? And will it take over my rocks until everything is completely covered in it. I’ve read they are good but I just don’t want it to completely take over everything and cause me to completely restart the tank or something. Tank is about a year old and has never really had any big problems . Thanks!

Looks like it, should be able to blow it off the rock with a turkey baster if you want to remove some

Looks like sponge. With a syringe squirt some vinegar on part of it. That will prob kill that spot if it wont come off easy.

I saw that people were saying to put h202 or vinegar on them but even at a year in to my first tank I’m always so nervous to put anything in there like that. more for my fish’s sake than my coral. Am I just being overly worried about that lol?

I wouldntnworry about it too much. Sponge growth is normal part of tank maturing. Manually remove as much as needed
