Looking to eventually add softies/lps. Is this an effective scape to do so? Or do I move some things around?

Yup, in time, won’t see that.

Make sure your off the back, can’t tell in pic (think it is).

Use front rock for corals that spread fast so you can manage them.

Nice
Definitely. Closest point of rock is an inch off the back wall
Also using an island for that exact purpose. Not too sure what I’ll put, maybe a zoa garden? But also considering a faster spreading coral. Any suggestions you may have? Pretty much open to everything

Looks good. Ultimately your rock scape should be what you enjoy. Agree with uncle... just keep it off the back wall to prevent stagnant areas of no flow and you are golden.
Yeah closest point of rock is an inch off on one side and 3 on other side. Might do a GSP back wall. Any thoughts on that if you have any input?

It’s a new system.

Me, I just start with a frag of nice green GSP.
I like to start with an easier coral, until I get chemistry locked in.

Inspiring to see what a tank can become. Looks great partner. How’s that xenia been for you?( Bottom left I’m assuming it’s xenia)
Don’t keep Xenia. It’s the worst pest of all. Unless you don’t mind it throwing babies everywhere and overtaking your tank.

I like it ! If it were me I would want a little more height, not symmetrically. But everyone has a different taste and that’s the beauty of this hobby.
My plan was to build upwards but want epoxy or glue to put it all together and be safer. Would it be a bad thing to add additional dry rock with an arch?

The xenia was fine..once a month i would take my reef tweezers and pull the spreading polyps back.. just like thinning the perennials in the garden. I enjoyed them..loved watching them pump...they were the first thing i put in the tank...before i knew what they could do spreading.

I don’t know anyone who “Throws babies” because they have xenia in their tank. I know that it’s a plague that takes over a tank but I don’t think many people abuse kids because of it? :face-with-hand-over-mouth:

But seriously, the scape looks great but be careful about what invasive species you add to the tank because they are going to be a trial to keep in check.

Xenia, star polyps, organ pipe coral and mushrooms look good quick but then you have to stay on top of thinning them out or other things will suffer.

Yeaaah definitely want something with not as much maintenance since this will be my first reef tank. The pulse is absolutely stunning though. Didn’t know something like that even existed in nature

Absolutely. Starting as basic as possible then maybe later in the year expand my options once I find stability with the tank and a good maintenance regiment
