LFS says it’s “some type of Caulerpa” but it looks a lot like codium?

I thought Codium had more tubular fronds. Maybe Google Codium images

I second Condium. The variety I get from Gulf of Mexico, prefers cooler water and is not available from divers during summer months.

This is codium. I can collect it here on Long Island in huge clumps. But it only lasts a few months but my urchins eat it before that.

The absence of knobby bits on yours is very interesting, Paul! My husband is from Long Island and he says he’s seen the kind you have.

We got Codium fragile from The Macro Lady and ours looks like what the OP has on steroids:

Ours grows very quickly and is easy to both prune and propagate. Occasionally a piece will attach itself to the rockwork (or pick up a piece of gravel in an attempt to—A for effort, at least?) but most of ours is just wedged between live rock and/or other macroalgae.

I wish our urchin would develop a taste for Codium instead of exclusively eating our coralline algae…

You can see some in my tank here from maybe the 90s or early 2,000s. I really don't remember. But this was a film camera. There is a Fireclown on the left just under the bubble coral, I still have him.
