My tank is going on two months old, I have always had a hard time identifying diatoms from Dino’s. What do y’all think? I have been having trouble getting my NO3 & PO4 up and my setup has ceramic bio rings and uses standard medium size tetra filter cartridges with activated carbon in them.
currently my parameters are
Tank size - 5g
Water - Rodi -0tds
Livestock; 1 clown and 1 chromis 2 hermits and 2 snails. Lps, SPS and zoas.
Temp -76* house got cold last night.
sg - 1.026
Ph - 8.15
Po4 - less than .03
No3 - 0
Nh3 - 0
Cal - 360
Mg - 1140
Kh - 7.3
I’m using Red Sea blue bucket and salifert tests. (I plan to switch to reef crystals once the blue bucket runs out and tank will be upgraded as soon as additional rock cures) All corals are doing well and are healthy but the zoas are a little ticked off from last nights temperature drop.

I'm gonna guess there's dinos in there somewhere. But that early in a tank on rock that's so white - I'd just call it the uglies and try not to think about it too much.

When to mix up fish meal: When was the last time you tried a different brand of food for your reef?
