I noticed this the other day. It looks like whiskers. Is this hair algae?

Looks like your tank is rather new. I usually don’t sweat this kind of algae. It’ll typically come and go

It is new 3 months. Im not so worried about having algae, what I’m concerned about is its growing on my Favia and the stalk of my hammer not just on the sand bed.

Anyone know what type of algae this is?

Anybody?

my hammer closed up some because I just moved it from the sand and put it in a frag holder before taking the pic. The algae or whatever it is, is all over it, it’s also on one of my Favias and on the glass in the same area.

I removed a few clumps (size of a pea and smaller) that was clumped with some pieces of sand.

I'm completely new the hobby haven't even set up my tank so I cant help but try re posting your thread it in the main forum "Aquarium discussion" and more people will probably see this. I will be going through this myself in the near future so I will be looking forward to answers from people.
