can someone help identify if this is ich? If so, I am pretty screwed since I am leaving to go across the country on Saturday, and have a housesitter coming. They don’t know anything other than to check up on it as I have ATO and auto feeder. Any ideas as far as treatment? I normally deal w Ich in freshwater by js cranking up the temp, but I have corals so I can’t exactly do that.

It is either Ich or brooklynella (Or both). If you look at my signature - you can see some questions you could answer to help us help you.

How is the fish acting? Is it breathing off at all? When did the spots first start?
This could be ich, but brooklynella is also possible with clownfish, especially with the irregular spotting.
We must have been typing at the same time - brooklynella may also have an elevated respiratory rate

So the fish was acting completely normal, but my royal gramma was acting extremely off, and I haven’t seen him in abt a day. When I get back from LFS I’ll take a look to check for breathing. (I have to get RO/DI lol)

It rarely does and generally in cases of early stage protozoans as its merely peroxide salts and at $40 for a small vial, best is traditional Quarantine using coppersafe at 2.2-2.5 for a full 30 days. If there rae other occupants who too are exposed, you might as well treat them also but lets confirm ich first
