Is this new growth or bleaching?

Hi guys. Yesterday, I noticed that my stylophora had some algae growing on the top, so I cleaned it off and moved it into a bit higher flow. This morning, I noticed that the algae is gone, but tops are white. Is it growth or is it bleaching? All my other corals seem happy. I'm running Radion xr15s g6. They peak at 60% for 6hrs.

looks like bleaching to me, try putting it on the sand for a month and see if it improves

The thing to remember is; algae can't grow on living tissue.
If it had algae, that part died.

60% for 6 hours doesn't mean anything without context. You don't say size of tank or how far coral is from light. That info is needed. 6 hours of peak? How long are lights on for or is there a ramp up/down?

I will say, sps need lots of indirect flow, could be why algae settled on it. I don't know.

Sorry... Its a 5' tank 180 gallon with 3 xr15s. Its aboutb12-14" from the lights. Theres a 3hr ramp-up from 0 to 60% more whites than blues, 6hrs at 60% mostly blues, then a 3 hr ramp down to 0 more whites than blues.

For flow, i have 2 mp40s (1 on each side) on lagoon running at 50-60% at about the same hight as the stylo(maybe a little higher) about an inch and a half closer to the front of the tank and a tunze 2165 blowing behind the rockwork from the opposite side. Up until yesterday, most of the flow from the left side was blocked by rockwork.

If i move it down to the sand, wouldn't the lower light be bad for it? I thought SPS needed more light.

From what I know from xr15s, they are not very strong. If that is your only light source, I think you need to move the frag up. At the top of the rock work should be more flow also.

Theres a 3hr ramp-up from 0 to 60% more whites than blues, 6hrs at 60% mostly blues, then a 3 hr ramp down to 0 more whites than blues.

You are correct. Move it up.

My gyros are blowing straight down. They do blow the sand out from the back and toward the front. That keeps anything from settling in the back of the tank and toward the front where it's easier to clean the sand. If you're looking at the tank from the front all you see is sand at the bottom you don't see the bare bottom in the back.
This is by far the best setup for Gyros I've been able to do for this tank with sand.
