Is this normal for a sleeping anemone?

I just fired up my nano reef about 3 weeks ago. I bought my first corals and a green bubble tip anemone this weekend. The anemone found it's spot in the side of a cave the first night. I fed it today for the first time (a small piece of scallop which it readily took) I was looking at it tonight when the lights were winding down and I was surprised to see that it looked like a tomato!!

Is this normal? I found a couple pics on Google that says that is how they sleep. If so, this is a truly fascinating creature.

I also included a "normal" picture.

Unfortunately that one died. I'm still new to the reefing thing and I think I overfed that one. I did get another one that split one time. That one hangs out in a different spot and they both "tomato" up from time to time.

Awful young tank for nem, usually 6+ mos before tank is stable enough without stressing them.
