is this purple garf normal????

This garf have some brownish poly. is that normal? i was just wondering is it due to the
high placement in the tank or other reason that cause this.
it is a 50 gallon t-5 tek 6 bulbs lighting

Doesnt look good, or like a bonsai to me but maybe just bleached. It had no polyp extension in the picture and the tissue looks very faded. The algae at the base looks like black cyno and the brown stuff on it looks like dinos that got stuck on it.

How long has it been in your tank. If it is a Garf Purple Bonsai, then it is not happy. They should have deep purple tissue with electric green polyps, very distinct.

Definitely doesn't look good. I keep mine up high about 10-12" from the lights (250 w MH) and mine is deep purple with bright green polyps like dakotasreef said.

How long has it been on that plug? It should have put out a base if sometime. It looks quite thin as well.
