Probably not if it has some sort of mould free chemical/product in it.
But i'm no expert!

I would recommend something like 'Wacker 121' - have used that in the past and its great.

I can’t find that by me, I know he silicone 1 is safe. Will it hold the pressure?

GE Silicon I (clear) is reef safe
GE Silicon II (clear) is not.

I’ve never found black silicon that was reef safe anywhere except from a company making silicon for aquaria specifically. I don’t know if I’d trust that particular sealer. For such a small savings, go ahead and order reef-safe black silicon.

100% silicon is what you want, it should hold, but it has to be reef safe, and most of what you get at the hardware store is not safe. I would really just order a product that's made for aquariums, especially if you want black seams.

I've never used that product, but yes, I would say that's what you want to use here.

Hi - the only products that I would entertain are

Momentive RTV108
350 PSI Tensile
500% Elongation

ASI Aquarium Sealant
400 PSI Tensile
575% Elongation

or
GE SCS1200
350 PSI Tensile
500% Elongation



GE I and II -- Selsil, etc. are going to be in the 200 PSI neighborhood with elongation less than 400% (as low as 300)

100% silicone is a like saying 100% polyurethane. There chemical reaction and components that react to form the product vary, so the end result varies.

That is just repackaged sealant that could honestly be anything. I wouldn't dream of trying to build a 150 gallon aquarium with squeeze tubes of overpriced branded tank patch -- especially of the fill spec sheet is not available.

The products that I listed are what commercial aquariums are built with. As I said, I wouldn't use anything else unless it both met or exceeded those specifications AND was specifically listed for underwater use. Full Stop.

These come in cartridges for entire tank - Pics are examples and for 3 decades using this without failure as i have repaired many tanks for others. Of course there are other products out there - Again, detailing to OP as to what I use

I don't think Red Sea uses any of the three you mentioned. :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:
I just tore apart a Red Sea sump the other day in about 3 minutes. My frag build, I made a mistake and put the back glass on backwards. I used ASI silicone. It took me a week to clean it off.

I almost made a RedSea reference earlier, but passed. Yes, I suspect they use questionable silicone, among other issues.
