Is this stand okay?

For smaller 200g and under tanks, I will never do MDF again. Anything above steel stand.

I build this stand for an ice cap 45 AIO out of 4040 Extrusion aluminum. This stand is crazy sturdy! And is super light. If I need to install panels I can do so easily with hinges on all three sides for access.

If I ever have to do another stand, it will probably be that extruded aluminum.

I would be afraid that stand will accelerate sideways once the tank is filled.

Try filling this outside in case it does.

Until you figure out how to and what hardware/fittings to used research is a must. I went into it blindly haha. Learned a long in the past few weeks. But now I have all the tools, and understand the measurements and fittings behind it! I’m on the verge of building a dresser drawer system, and a tall storage cabient ordeal out of this stuff. Solid for sure.

There are tank companies now selling kits, but I feel you can do better getting your own if you understand the extrusion system. If not the kit from Aquarum builders are nice. They are just assemble all fittings included, and no cutting required. Being I’m a general contractor it’s easy to make my own haha.

It has all bolted in corners. It’s not going where. It’s the front to back motion that would be an issues because of its height. But I’m installing two more side rails at 45* to mitigate the motion issue in that regards. Or I can add a panel on the bottom that will basically strengthen all of the wiggle is has left which is not much at all. At first I told myself it might be an issue big time. But after getting much of it together it solid. And will only stronger with what I mentioned above.

I will be doing a thread on the build possibly in the near feature.

Yup no more wobbles

This may sound crazy, but with it that narrow side to side, front to back, I would consider a corner bracket to the wall on each side, with good sheetrock anchors in the wall.
