Can this 240 gallon be salvaged with a new stand and re-silicone?

Also, why is there two extra pieces of glass running down both sides of the tank on the inside?!
Biggest worry is the small chipped edge :/

Tank probably has a leak and instead of redoing the entire tank someone said why don’t I just put the glass inside to do 2 sides instead of 4.

The glass is not even level. I would hard pass.
Also glass on the inside used to be pretty common form of bracing so could be that or could be a repair attempt

Im getting ready to repair a 225gal tank, i have to replace the back panel but this one seems like you would be buying alot of new glass and redoing the entire tank. Unless your up for a huge project and basically building yourself a new tank I wouldn't mess with it. Definitely worth using as a snake cage or something though.

You could prob fill it and it would be fine. It could also split apart and spill. All a matter of willingness to accept the risk. I would never touch a cracked chipped tank over 20 gallons.
