I'm just getting back into the aquarium life after 20 or so years, and new to reefing. When looking into local groups, the internet tells me that WAMAS is a major group in our area. But...when I have a look at their forums, the only posts that are outside of the paid membership are quite old (several years), with the exception of a once or twice a year meeting announcement. Is anyone here a part of the group, or is there another group in the DC area that is active? I'm sure once I get a year down the road I'll be interested in frag swaps and that sort of thing.

I’m going to assume…that’s a no. I suppose that’s just the way things are headed a lot of places. Sad though!

The wamas.org forum is somewhat still active but not really much traffic on here

Hi there,

Hope that this isn't too late, but WAMAS is very much still active, and we have our next quarterly meeting this upcoming weekend in Bethesda. The most active board on the website is the for sale section which is members only.

Hope to see you next weekend,

Jim

Great, thanks for posting this, I hope to come check it out this weekend, the planned speaker looks great!

Awesome! Looking forward to seeing you. My name is Jim, I'll be at the door.

If you're not already a member consider a membership!

If you do decide to, i recommend signing up in advance, sometimes to door can get crowded and don't want to hold you up.
