Looking at the return pump I can't find any model information whatsoever. So that seems odd. Maybe the model info is on their website.

Pump does look pretty generic and cheap. I guess as long as it does the job but it is interesting that there isn't any manuf. name or model info.

Love my cad 70. Same experience. Sometimes when there on they respond like crazy but when they are not just forget it. Of course the no instructions thing is a pisser but you can figure it out.
I run 2 gen 2 xr30 radions on mine with one 150 gyre side to side. Probably could use some front to back but I have plenty of flow.

Their pump was the only thing I did not use. I upgraded to the bigger skimmer but never used it on this system. I started out with the jabeo dc pump which I absolutely loved but it only lasted one year. I am running a old mag pump at the moment until I decide what dc pump to try next.

Oh wow. 2 Gyre 150s! That's definitely providing you a lot of flow. I was thinking of two @EcoTech Marine VorTech MP40wQD on either side. Mainly because of the reeflink possibilities.

But please expand on your experience with the two Gyre 150s. What kind of animals are you keeping? I'm assuming you must be able to keep a lot of nutrients in the water column with your setup.

Yeah...all of the scratches and flimsy feel of the housing doesn't make me feel all that confident in it...

2 lights...1 gyre

Do you feel the single 150 is all you need? Seems like it would be more than enough for the 70 gallon.

I'm just tempted into the @EcoTech Marine control platform. Although, I'm leaning towards the AI Hydra 52 HD rather than the Radions.

I've got time to think this over. My next thing is to complete the saltwater station.

Looks good. No there are not instructions with the tank. I found the best place to get more plumbing parts is from CoralVue. They use metric sizes like CadLights. Wordof advise on the skimmer, make small changes to it or it will run away on you. My 150 took about 2 weeks to stabilize. Keep us posted!

Finally got a chance to sit with my girls and unpack our @marcorocks order.

Seriously impressed what about $100 got me. And, each rock was individually wrapped in bubble.

I don't know why but assumed there would be just a mass of dry rocks mashed into a blanket of bubble wrap and tape. But these were wrapped individually and carefully packed into the box.

They put the key largo prime cuts at the top.

There was breakage on only one piece.

The only rubble from one large piece with delicate structures.

Overall very pleased. Marco rocks delivered a great package. I hope to turn this into two columns, one larger than the other, with a reinforced overhang.

So I've situated myself to put together a saltwater mixing station. I've seen some good ones online and think I can copy a similar build.

Specifically Big-Mike-the-Reefer's build.

You can watch the video on YouTube here:

I've got a location in the garage that actually can hide the unit when it's not in use, as well as being near a water and drain source --- water heater and tapping a bathroom drain p-trap.

I picked up the parts to update the cold water intake to my water heater so that I have a controllable valve that I can I switch on or off.

ImageUploadedByREEF2REEF1457162479.703250.jpg

I'll attach those parts here.

ImageUploadedByREEF2REEF1457162497.793587.jpg

I started doing it and forgot to continue taking pictures as I progressed. I'll post some tomorrow. It took a few tries to get the setup right with no leaks.

I also reinforced the cabinet and started mounting the BRS 6 stage inside the same unit.

One adjustment I had to make was remove the Velcro that BRS applied to the DI stage. Wish they let you apply it where you want. I had to clip off the zip ties and unscrew the TDS housing to detach the wires so I could run the wires to the front of the unit. BRS velcro'd it to the back plate -- which makes it hard to easily see imo.

Now it's on the front plate but I can move it now if I need to. Just FYI, the Velcro adhesive comes off pretty easily without leaving any residue.

OK so now I've got the plumbing done on the water heater where I took the incoming cold water and added a valve to utilize the BRS faucet adapter so now I have a constant supply with a brass valve for long life and ease-of-use.

Finally finished installing the BRS RO/DI six stage PLUS system. Here's a few pics of the setup.

ImageUploadedByREEF2REEF1457230609.464644.jpg

I ran the intake from a Brass T valve on the water heater.

ImageUploadedByREEF2REEF1457230672.343140.jpg

I ran the waste water directly to a bathroom drain using the saddle valve provided by BRS. This took some drilling through a wall. I used coax bushings to clean the look.

The DI line was attached to a Johnny Guest 3 way valve so I could run out water into a freshwater jug. This is to pull TDS creep out of the water before switching to the DI.

I'll work on plumbing the Brutes next weekend.

following along. i have had a cadlights 70 and then a cadlights 100 gallon and no problems.
usually if you have any problems they will replace it for you. My skimmer pump had an issue a year out and I they gave me a new pump and got it fixed.
looks like a fantastic build.
