Awesome. What lights are you running on yours? I've had many crashes. I know I need to sterilize better. How do you sterilize. Thanks

I’m no authority on this but I have b rn successfully running it for a while. I sterilize with peroxide. The lights are 100w led grow lamp running over 3 gallon jugs. 18 hour photoperiod.

Starting with good clean genetics is what helped me the most. I had crashes early on too with “hobby grade” starters.

For all things phyto @Eldredge.
Get a good culture. Start with diluting 1:5 or 1:10 (not 5 cc's in a gallon!).
No need to get crazy with sterilization. I washed well with hot water.
For some species I found it helpful to shade the phyto vessel with a sheet of copy paper for the first couple of days.

These are 1 gallon jars. Distance is 8-10” in a semi circle.

For me it was less about the light and sterilization and more about culture. I failed many times with products intended to be sold in bulk. Think normal everyday phyto and pod sellers. NANNO is pretty simple and will grow from just about any source. To me it seems like the aggressive phyto that if you have a mixture eventually everything becomes NANNO.

So that said on the reds and iso if you have a source that is cross contaminated it’s going to lose in my experience. ISO is just not a robust strain and bacteria yeast and other plants out compete it. The other way to deal with that weakness is to only thin your source sample by a small amount to start with. Like 50/50 culture/saltwater. If you baby it along at the start and let it get fully established then use common sense when you open jars you should be good.

Hello. We were talking awhile back about t-iso galbana and how you were growing it. I finally got a culture today, and wanted to know if you are going a fast bubble rate or slow.

Thanks

I’ll grab some video tomorrow. I go for a continuous stream. Too little and I got settling. Too much is chaos without benefit.

I appreciate your dosing set up. I do similar with a baby fridge :)
I can’t be trusted to remember to do it. I’ve got pipefish mandarins and seahorse that eat thousands of pods a day so gotta keep them happy. I pump it right into the pod city I printed.
