you will find SEVERAL names for that chalice. its one of the more common imports so many vendors seem to give it its own names. always has one huge "mother eye" and then smaller ones around it. also very common to have blue streaks painted on the surface. most times it is sold as a colony not frags due to the availability.

Common aussie red/orange and teal chalice. You see a lot of these, but in my opinion the pattern makes them! Kinda like a BA scoly... sure everyone has one, but who has the sickest pattern? :)

Actually I see quite a few of those coming and have been told they are collected as Makassar red chalices. I believe the ones I've received were Indo in origin.

Kraylen put it well. What's most important is that you like the look of it, and if that's the case, then you're set!

Here's one I picked up a while ago at the store I work at. Nice orange eyes on it too. Wasn't too expensive either.

not a bad deal. but not great. i see your in florida. marine warehouse has a few just like it in the 89.00 section. tons of great wild colonies coming in that are even holding color very well so its a great time to be buying nice chalice. the prices are dropping like a rock

I also picket up a simillar one earlier. I started to get some swirling orange and purple on my new growth and I fragged that portion off. That is why the shape is so funny. Here ia a new frag.
