Since I started using Vibrant my NO3 has been bottoming out.

I’ve been dosing Spectracide, but really don’t trust it. Every time I have dosed it, my Goni closes up.

I feel much safer using this stuff.

Been dosing Vibrant every 3 days since 12/13/18 to eliminate bubble algae.

It seems to be working but now bryopsis has taken over.

The plan is to use Reef Flux HD next week.

Currently tank shots:

Started Reef Flux tonight to wipe out bryopsis.

Skimmer cup has been removed

Will be running it for 21 days.

PO4 has been super high (between .1-.3). I believe it’s leeching, maybe the new sand I added? Either that or perhaps algae dying off...

I’ve done 6g water changes almost everyday, it will come down some, but even with very light feeding it has been going right back up.

I picked up some Phosguard, which is running in a mesh bag for the time being.

Setup of the #Alkatronic was pretty straight forward. Still have a few things to work out...

Currently it is reading about .7 higher than my Hanna. I am just about out of reagent for the Hanna, so will pick more up of that today and retest. Will also re-run the pump accuracy tests on the Alkatronic.

Still have to get the WiFi connected.

Currently have it set to run a test every 4 hours.

Going to pick up a BNC cable to show data on the Apex.

great setup! I am sure you will love the alkatornic. I have the KHG guardian and love it so much, by far the best thing I bought for my tank.

How did the reeflux work for you?

Thank you! It's really going to give me piece of mind, especially on vacations and such.

The Reef Flux has been working amazing. It has been exactly 7 days since I dosed and the bryopsis is dying off like crazy. Every time I check the tank I see some floating around, while whatever is left on the rocks is turning white.

Have you tested the checker against a calibration solution? I think Hanna even makes a sealed standard you can simply insert into the checker with the right tinting to replicate a certain KH.

Very exciting re the Alkatronic. :)

I used fluconazole over a year ago and have had no bryopsis since, so look forward to that. (Although I also have a tang and a foxface...)

Can’t wait to see your system flourish. Great gear choices so far.

I actually ordered the Hanna Reference solution today, hopefully should be here tomorrow along with some more Reagents.

Also picked up a new Salifert Alk kit from my LFS today just to cross reference.

Glad to hear the fluco worked well for you. I was a bit concerned since I read that some people have had it come back, that could just be from reintroduction though too.

3 weeks since using Reef Flux and it looks like all Bryopsis has been eradicated.

There still remains a bit of regular GHA in the sump and some bubble algae, but I’m really happy not to deal with bryopsis anymore.

I will say it was not an easy 3 weeks on my corals though.

I had quite a few acros STN, most looks like they will recover. Some have browned out and lost PE as well.

Trachy is starting to color back up from the stress of shipping.

Can't believe I haven't updated this thread in over a year...to be honest the tank has been basically on auto-pilot this whole time and other life stuff kind of got in the way.

There's definitely been some ups and downs with this tank, but with the systems I have in place it made things really easy to maintain. The GEO Calcium reactor has done a terrific job of keeping up with the demands in conjunction with the Alkatronic.

One things I slacked off on was changing out my RODI...I went way too long without changing the filters and was topping off with water about 8 TDS. These have since been changed out. As a result I had a pretty bad Hair algae outbreak which I was able to get rid of pretty easily with Algaefix and running some extra Phosban in my GEO reactor.

Also started dosing some sodium nitrate since my NO3 has gone to 0 and been getting some cyano.

I've finally had some time to snap some pics:

Been battling Aiptasia and decided to add some Berghia, I added them about a week ago, haven't seen much change but from what I'm told it takes some time for them to start decimating them.
