Hi all have a question about Jason fox flame sps. I got a frag of it and it has been in my tank for a weeks now under radion xr15 gem 3 pros about half way up a rsr350 so about 20 inches total below the light. Started the lights off at 30% and have increased 1% a week. Under Blues the base is started to turn to a dark green from a maroon color. I have a few branches popping up that have the neon green tip but the branch is a very light red. Is this what it's supposed to lol like? I read they like to be placed lower in the tank. Also I've never seen a polyp come out of this either. I'm not worried about it dieing just curious about the colors

I found this link on our website. Looks like a member was selling some frags and this is their mother colony

I have Led fixtures on my aquarium just like you do. When you say you start the coral off with 30% light and increase by 1%. Are you actually changing
your light profile in the whole tank.... depleting light on your existing corals to try and accommodate one coral?

hi thanks for the link. No I just had a new build which was an upgrade and started the lights out at 30% intensity and have raised them 1% a week. I am not lowering them when i get a new coral just raising and acclimating all my existing coral one of them being a jf flame. It was a very dark red now under the blues its a dark green. still have the light neon green tips though.

Mine was a 1/4" frag bought from an R2R member last May. Here it is today. It's been under 20k MH. iPhone pic- not retouched.

I got mine from JF directly and it was brown for about 3 months with no growth. Now, the colors pretty much look like his website. Mine is under 250W 10K XM. I will try to take a pic but I only have an iPhone camera.

This is one of the few corals I have that actually looks like the pics on their seller's website without excess blue.

Ok here's an update it has turned back from green to a dark red and I see a few bumps sprouting up from the base with neon green spots. Hope that's new growth we shall see. Still haven't seen any polyps out of this thing with the few short branches that were already there.

Anyone running there's under radions? Would like to see some photos. I've seen some ULNS with the foxflame and it looks very pale.

Heres an update the radions are now maxing out at 47% still slowly increasing the intensity. It has turned a dark red again back fro mthe dark green it was. seeing a few new branches pop up on the right side and finally saw some polyps come out. beautiful coral I can see why people like it so much. Iphone pic attached.

Hey I got mine under radions at 100% 26 inches from the light, it's only getting about 120 par at the moment, will be cracking it up as I adjust to my new G4 Pros. I have 2 pieces from 2 different people. I have one that's got dark skin which I got a little while ago and a the lighter skin one recently. I've tracked the lineage and they are both legit, now wondering why one is so light compared to the other. I know they'll dark more under lower light, but the difference at the moment is pretty significant. I know corals will also morph under different conditions.

Man I suck, I must have missed the email that you asked a question, sorry.

It is under medium to low light, probably around 300 PAR max, it is in the back corner of the tank about halfway up. I have it under MH and T5. 250W Radium MH and ATI Blue+ and Coral+ T5.
