Thanks.Very nice set up.
A QT is a great idea. Your DT looks awesome too. Just a heads up, back when I was setting up my QT, I read that it should be a minimum of 10ft away from other tanks to prevent ich transmission via aerosol. Sounds kind of crazy but I took the advice. Here's the linksI have started my build on my quarantine tank. It is a 29g cube I will be running a LED light with a gooseneck fixture.
I plan on building a stand for it and placing it next to my 150g reef tank. I had an ich outbreak two months ago that wiped most of my fish out. So time for a quarantine tank.
I will not be using the live rock. I just put it in there for the picture. To show the tank a little more.In the event that you need to medicate in QT, that liverock may give you some trouble. It can absorb copper and other meds, making it difficult to maintain therapeutic levels, then leach the stuff back out later - when you _didn't_ want meds in the tank.
A lot of folks will use a sponge filter (Aqua-Clear HOB or air-driven sponge in the tank) to grow bacteria on, and PVC pipe sections and fittings for hiding places.
