Just set up a JBJ 65 gallon tank (display portion is 45 gallons) and was wondering if my intended stocking list is overkill.

1 Orchid dottyback

2 Benggai cardinal fish

1 Longnose hawkfish

1 small wrasse (Flame or flasher or six line??)

1 Tailspot blenny

It's not overkill unless you're planning to get small inverts

Sounds good to me, I love the long nose hawk fish it’s my favorite one in my tank.
Thats the problem if you're planning to get small inverts but I had one in my first reef tank I helped with

I was hoping to get emerald crabs and snails.. would that be an issue? And as far as wrasses go do you have any suggestions for a tank this size?

This should be fine and for wrasse I think some sort of leopard would be fun as long as you have a deepish sand bed

Unfortunately my sand bed is coarse and not very deep so I was looking at flash or six line but everyone says six lines are aggressive so I’m hesitant.

GO PINKSTREAK WRASSE!

They are so personable and fun little fish. I cant recommend them enough. Super peaceful, help with pests great little fish. I have 3 in my 180g. Before that my most active least scared fish in my 70g was my pink streak.

You may not see them for the first month or 2 but then they start just roaming the tank with little care.

Ooo I have looked at those but totally forgot about them. I didn’t know they were so personable that’s exciting! I’ll have to look into one more now thank you.

I would say they are one of my favorite fish. It takes a while to get them out of their shell and them to get comfortable but they all just swim together and are super peaceful.

Here is the first time I saw him after a month lol.
