Hi there,

Would anyone recommend these wave makers: https://www.ketteringkoi.com/jebao-...tXpFQ2BpoHSfPZ3fKdKqLUvufQso74R1WNt4qbNwooEff

I am looking for something like the AI Nero but without the huge price tag, I am not very fussed about app control as I like to use physical controllers myself.

If I am right these pumps don't allow you to put them below 30% flow but again this is no problem for me. Its more about reliability.

Also if anyone knows better in regards to wave makers, how many I need and placement. My tank size is 65cm Long, 35cm Wide and 40cm Deep.

Thanks

I run a Jebao ow-10 in my 15 and a ow-40 in my 50. I like these as the price is right and you can move the powerhead as it's not fixed.
I ran ow-40's in my 120 also.
The controller is nicer than my old Tunze.

The Jebao SLW/MLW/ALW/ELW/DLW are great pumps! I run several of them on a bunch of tanks. The DLW is the latest with the bluetooth controller.

The app does everything that the "big name" apps do.

Also, there are NO DC wavemakers that actually let you tune below 30%. They might say otherwise in the app, but the nature of DC pumps require around 30% minimum power to turn the blades against the resistance of the water. If you look at the stated flow (in the app) of a Nero set at 1%, it's ACTUALLY pushing about one third of the max flow... or 30%

Thanks for all the feedback.

I have ordered two SLW 5’s for my tank got them from the AliExpress official store.

I Never knew interesting to know!

I have 2 jebao sow 8
Says they are for 60-100 gallon
Is that correct?

I’m setting up a 60 gallon and want to make sure I got the right size. I don’t plan on having sps

I just put two SLW-5 wave makers in my Innovative Marine 20 replacing the hygger wave makers I had that were giving poor performance even after a good cleaning. The SLW-5 is WAY more powerful than I thought. I had them on the lowest setting and I feel like it's blasting my corals. My rhodactis mushrooms almost flipped over, my duncan retracted. I ended up turning one of them off and I'm going to run with just one for a while and see how my coral do, I might turn the other one on again later, or I might have to see if I should go with a different wave maker.
