Jellyfish Dying, Don't know why

My jellyfish keep dying and I'm not sure why. The pH is 7 and the salinity is 1.023 with water around 22 degrees Celsius in a ten-gallon tank. The water that I am changing the tank water with is de-ionized water is that an issue? Also, I have been feeding my jellyfish brine shrimp, both dead and alive, and for some reason, if it sits in the tank for even a little bit of time (2 hours), it starts to disintegrate my jellyfish what is going on?

Unfortunately, this is an experiment for school, so we can't get a tank specifically made for jellyfish so right now there in rectangular tanks with sealant in the corners to prevent bumping (non-toxic sealant) and an air pump at all times. Should I put a light source over the tanks?

You’ll need some pretty serious filtration in addition to just airstones to keep the water clean enough for jellies. They need so much planktonic food that you end up having to filter the majority of it out

Friend, I have zero experience with jellyfish, but I do know that they need a very specific aquarium. Not just a PetCo/PetSmart tank, they need a circular aquarium that fits their needs.

And I'm sorry, but you are going to amputate them? I have a legit degree in Bio, we dissected A LOT of creatures, but we always did so with the utmost respect, and under guidelines that govern this kind of stuff.

Sheesh! I don't typically post this, but please avoid doing jellyfish in your classroom, they are not beginner animals.

There are LOTS of animals you can keep if you just want to entertain and maybe encourage your kids.

Uhhh pH 7? Do you mean 8? Not much is going to do well in pH 7. What salt are you using?
