I unfortunately deleted a photo I took of my tiny space invader that's only about the size of your thumb nail with a sweeper tentacle twice its body length. This guy is going to be trouble when he gets bigger, so going to find a good corner for him. If he misbehaves I might get a joker galaxea and let them go thunder dome in the corner.

Day 6 of Flux Rx in the tank. Running dual air stones in the back (annoying, but rigged up some floss at the top so less splash everywhere). My favia looks a bit ticked, but that could be independent. Everything else seems OK.

So far no effect on the bubble algae, which is expected:

It is, however, affecting the Botrycladia, which has been shedding bubbles:

The green cyphastrea seems happy about that, though, as it's getting shaded less.

I am also noting a diminishing in the one spot of GHA that I have in the tank: GHA growing on exposed stylophora skeleton:

On the brighter side, my newest zoa/palys, Utter Choas (2 polyps at purchase) and Spitfires (2-3 polyps), are growing very nicely!

Update on the Flux Rx, Day 8:

Macros taking a hit:
- Botrycladia (see below)
- Caulerpa prolifera
1685663272126.png

Macros not yet affected:
- Codium

Nuisance algae status:
- Ulva, seemingly unaffected
- GHA, withering
- Valonia, starting to get darker and pearly, some becoming clear and deflated

Everything else in the tank seems to be doing great. My nitrates are too low, near zero, and phosphates have gone up to 0.12, which I attribute to the lack of nitrates to fuel consumption and also the macros no longer doing their jobs.

Hoping to stay the course and get this cleared up!

Wow, this sucks! I am 'watching' your thread, but for some reason I don't seem to get the notifications, not sure what's up.

The nem is gorgeous and I am crazy jealous of your Yasha! Really excited to see this batch of fish go in. Expecting tons of pictures, please.

The nem is in the tank! I pulled the nem cup from my Evo and brought it to work today. Left the nem hanging upside down with the tentacles in the water and foot outside the water--was a bit cruel, but it slowly let go. Then was easy to scoop up and place in the tank. Was looking happy for a bit, but unfortunately already having a walkabout around the back, creeping up on my black widow... a ver.

Firefish making a rare appearance.

Also noticed that there is a bump coming up on the top right base of my monti digitata. Was supposed to be a "peach" monti, but this looks anything but peach. More green with a few red streaks. Anyway, looks like it is growing a new branch!

SPS island in general not looking too shabby.

What is that larger branching colony with the teal polyps? Another monti, bird's-nest of some kind?

Big fan of your colors. I sort of feel that I have waaaay too much green in my tank.

My spotted nem crab has relocated to the BTA rock and picked out a happy spot right between the rainbow and the black widow nem! He looks so happy.
PXL_20230607_000126230_exported_stabilized_1686096217598.gif

So far I haven't noted aggression between the two nems, and I hope it stays that way. Once I ramp up the lights, I think the two nems will be happy--the rainbow is used to about 200 par and is only getting 150 right now.

My next big problem is digitate hydroids, which are exploding in the tank, likely from the broadcast feedings. These look like hard ones to get rid of.

It will stop notifying of you miss clicking on a notification one time. I post relatively frequently so it'll pop up :)

Right now I'm in heavy prep mode for the yasha, leopard and court jester. Have to move rocks around, glue down frags and figure out where all of these zoas are going for their final spots!

Feeding update:
I've experimented with the combo of Reef Nutrition liquid foods dispensed by the Reef Factory doser (more on that later) and have so far arrived at the following:

1. Mysis feast has been removed from autofeeding because it occasionally clogs the 2mm/5mm tubing. I now manually feed it once or twice a week. Mostly to the nems and crabs because the fish don't seem to care much for it.

2. To keep things nicely suspended, I need a higher ratio of the more viscous pod products and ROE than the thinner oyster/roti/phyto feast.

3. Fish (and everything else) like the ROE the most.

4. Currently mixing a ratio of 3:2:2:1:1:1 for ROE : Pac Pods : Arcti Pods : Oyster Feast : Roti Feast : Phyto Feast.

When the new fish come in, I will see what they like the most and adjust. However, longer term, I am planning to start phyto and pod cultures, so will likely remove the pods from the mix and increase the ROE.

Also planning to try out the Masstick premade squishing pellets, which I will try on the glass and/or on the rocks.

Update on the tank:

Flux Rx treatment seems to have halted the Valonia spread in its tracks. There are still some bubbles in the tank on some rocks, but I plan on popping them and letting the rest of the Flux treatment drive them away. The only coral that seems to be struggling a bit is my Monti digitata, which has had polyps withdrawn a good bit. I don't know if that has to do with the Flux or the addition of the large BTA in the tank (which is upflow from the Monti but not near touching range).

I moved some of the Evo corals into the tank now, and some are settling nicely, some not so happy, particularly the Scoly and the Trachy. I did notice the female sexy shrimp bothering both of them today, so that may be why. The Alveopora isn't coming out either, though, so it might be a problem with the flow. I'm having trouble dialing in the flow for all of the corals.

Pics!

Sad scoly:

Medium-sad Trachy:

Very sad alveopora:

pretty happy blasto merletti!

Duncan has been the happiest I've ever seen it! Setosa is kinda meh:
1686696833750.png

The acan is finally recovering nicely. Close to the space invader, but the pectinia's sweeper is conveniently flowing away from the acan. It has a long sweeper!
1686696901125.png

And finally, there's these guys showing up everywhere. Digitate hydroids. Looks like this is going to be my next challenge. They are bothering some corals, so I need to work out the strategy for killing them.

The scoly and alveo definitely look pretty upset. Trachy seems to be hanging in there though. The price and sensitivity of those large LPS scare me. Scoly/trachy/cynarina etc. So pretty though.

Woohoo! Noopsyche lights just in! Thanks @Zach B and @noopsyche !

FTS time. Note, swapping the AI Prime 16HD out for another Noop K7 mini once I get the extra standoff bolts from amazon.
1686774293984.png

Bit of a mess on the floor, but I'm planning to tidy up and reorganize cables in the next week or two.

Jeez, that's a lot of light man. What kinda settings are you running on the k7 minis? I can't tell if I'm over or underlighting my corals haha
