finally got my new "frag tank" up and running. this will be my "favia garden", and other random lps growout area. my fish room is getting seriously crowded!
i intend to remove all of the favia frags from their current plugs/disks and glue them to the empty "frag rocks" you see in the tank for growout. i'm going to use the new glue that "SoGoneRG" made to do this once i receive it, and will post a review of the glue after i've done it. i'll post some closeups once they are attached to their new homes.
no, the ft favia hasn't changed...i'm not expecting miracles! lol!
is this what bigian uses? i would put them on there but one of my favias is well encrusted on the frag disk already.........its gonna look weird if i just plopped it on top of the rock any suggestions ben?
some of mine are that way, too. i'll cut what i can of the disk off with a diamond band saw and glue just the corals to the rocks. at least that is the plan. some of them i will just cut a couple of heads off and glue those down.
one of the guys in our local reef club is a professional cabinet maker and has a really nice cnc machine. he makes tanks/sumps for club members for basically the cost of materials. i paid $100 for the tank.
i used the tank as our store's display at a recent frag swap, and asked for the black bottom/back to make the colors "pop" for the show. i suspect it'll cover in coralline in no time, but i may scrape it every now and then for some pictures.
