I went to the LFS to order a goby and pistol shrimp. I like the owner and he treats me good. He has full therapeutic copper tanks so he can Quarantine.

While I was waiting I saw two baby clowns in a RFA tank. There was other clowns but these two never left each other or the only baby BTA. The BTA is the size of a quarter. So yes I caved and got the three.

I had to turn the MP40’s down to 10% or the clowns struggle swimming.
The BTA found a hole in a rock and stayed put. The clowns can’t swim in the BTA there and seem sad about it.

I hope I can keep the BTA alive being the tank just cycled and I don’t know what I’m doing

AWW THEY LOOK ADORABLE!!! also i dont mean to burst your bubble but i think it may have been a bit too early for a goby and shrimp. Reason being im not sure you have developed enough microfauna to actually support the feeding needs of the goby.

Also, um. like scurvy said, i did the same thing with the anemone. i got one within a month of my tank being up and it did melt away and almost killed everything in my tank. Luckily i was able to take it out before it nuked.

@Scurvy @Musovski @ Katrina71 I hope the anemone will be ok but in reality I know it’s early. The clowns keep going to the anemone but with him in the hole of the rock they can snuggle with him
I hated to rain on your parade. I would consider a backup plan if at all possible. A small tank with a sigle piece of mature rock would probably suffice if you see it struggling. I think i remember you mentioning some live rock in the early posts.

No live rock. All dry from Marco. I can add a piece of live rock if need be. Could I sit the live rock in the sump or does it need to be in the display tank?

Cant really say for sure but in my gut I feel like puttting the anemone on the mature rock can make a difference. Thats a total anecdotal feeling off of how mine have behaved through various tank moves and other non ideal scenarios ive put them in.

I think theres something to the bio-film being developed in the surface of the rock. Funny how we wound up back on that topic.

I thought you would say keep the anemone on the live rock. I will go and look for a piece tomorrow. Thanks for the information
