Don, if you are seeing them in the sump but none in the display its usually just a matter of time... What i wish I had done when i found the first couple in my Fuge was to disconnect the sump, tear it down and bleach everything before restarting it. May sound extreme but it was a good month or longer where I saw a couple pop up in the Fuge before noticing one in the display so I may have had a chance at containment/erradication.

I agree with @Scurvy, I'd disconnect the sump and scrub it clean. Not sure if go the whole bleach route though.
Vinegar probably works well enough but Id want to be sure if I were going to put in the effort.

This thought last night crossed my mind. I think the little bit of effort may be worth it. Easy to clam the sump compared to display.

Thank you

Couple weeks ago LFS had a decent size and fat Mandarin. Went back week later and he was still there so I brought him home.
Doubt he eats frozen, pellet or flake nor do I care. One a day wouldn’t keep him alive anyway.
He hasn’t ventured far and stays in the shadows of rocks giving him space while he adjusts

Fresh clam made someone happy

And not so happy turned white then brown was discolored down to the nub on the right side seems to be improving

BTA’s are growing.
Crab seems to like his home and the BTA’s are happy to have him. Clowns love the company and last two nights both clowns slept in one BTA with crab under it.

I moved and epoxied a few frags first week in September.
Banzai I think or correct me if wrong. frag plug was encrusted and now is starting on the epoxy.

Validia I believe fragplug was completely encrusted and starting on the epoxy.

July 29 I added pinky the bear. Frag plug was encrusted and been slowly encrusting the epoxy.

With so many BTA’s I picked up Anemone crab today.
Anyone keep Crabs in pairs?
During feeding he poked out from under the anemone to get a picture. Hard to take picture because of the distance from the glass

Thank you. I haven’t seen the crab but haven’t look much lately. No fighting with clowns. The clowns showed more interest with each other in the BTA since adding the crab. Funny how a small addition changes the balance in the tank

Total success, well done. As you said the balance shifted in a good way.

Everything seems to be on the upswing don besides the aip popping up... berghias work. But usually dont last long cause they wipe out the food source so fast. Perhaps a small order of maybe 6 for the sump and just let them run? The nudi's are pretty cheap if u compare it to the effort of a sump teardown. Especially after u got the fuge going in the direction u want...

For 50 bucks u can forget about the aips, seems like an easy choice in a hobby where we spend thousands on everything else. :shrugs:

Pulled everything out of sump. Scrubbed with vinegar and started to put it all back. Grab a couple rocks from LFS that have been cycling for a month. Small jump start for the Fuge.
Wiring is a mess and will take for ever getting it back to normal. I think my apex PH prob lost calibration during the process.
Hopefully clean Cheeto, sea lettuce and red OGO will be here Wednesday or Thursday from algae barn.

While sump was apart I raised skimmer to 8 1/2” water height. Still the only way to keep it overflowing is almost shutting air knob. Doing so puts so many bubbles in the sump

And some pictures

Grab this little guy today
