So I just set up a new tank (90 gallon w/sump). I made my own salt water using HW Marinemix reef. Mixed them in separate containers, and they stayed cloudy for 3 days. I added them into the tank and it's still cloudy after a couple of days with the pumps and power heads going. I'm deathly afraid of it precipitating because it coats everything with that white gunk and I'll have to spend 10 hours cleaning everything, grrrrr!!!! So here are my measurements, any thoughts on what to do to clear it up and prevent a precipitate??? I havent added anything but water and salt.

Salinity: 1.025
PH: 8.03
Calcium: 375
Magnesium: 1200
Alkalinity: 11.2dkh
Phosphate: 0.23
Ammonia: 0

You could run a filter to catch the floating garbage. Other than that, its a waiting game.
How long did you let the water mix before adding it to the tank?
what else in the tank would have caused the cloudiness? Dry Rock perhaps?

I showed a few hobbyist in the area and they all decided the salt was bunk! I siphoned it out and started over.
