I’ve attached pics of my tank below but basically I was away for about 3 weeks and my roommate was taking care of the tank. He just would put in slow release food for my cleaner shrimp every 3-4 days. And refill my ATO.

First question how do I deal with the algae.

Second how do I clean my glass without killing all the copepods.

Third what are these circular worm looking things.

I’ll update with my water parameters after I do a water change.

HI - please attack a photo. Don't worry about killing pods, just clean the glass.

Just scrape the glass normally, the film algae is common and what happens when the glass is not cleaned. The tiny white spirals are spirorbid worms, also normal. You can scrape them from the glass as well. Gently so you don't scratch anything. Don't worry about harming pods or the worms, there are plenty.

Yes, you can manually remove as much of the algae as you can. Do you have any other clean up crew besides the cleaner shrimp?

Just take it slow, No chemicals or magic fixes. Part of a new tank is going through this stage.

Probably didn’t need to feed the tank at all. The shrimp would pick off the rocks and sand on his own.

for the algae on the rocks, can I just take it out myself?
If The rock can be removed and there is no coral on it, place it on the table and mist it with hydrogen peroxide. Spray the algae and get it good and misted. Let it sit for 5 min. Then do a quick dip in rodi to rinse it off. Then put it back in the tank. It will fizz like soda. That’s the algae dying off. In 48 hours it should be gone. Repeat if necessary after 48 hours.

Do one rock at a time. Once it’s resolved, move on to another rock.
