It may be oversaturated just a bit, but this is a good start. You may want to watch the really good video that @samparker posted yesterday that covers coral lenses and post processing for mobile phones (but the post processing applies to most any coral photos).

Thanks for the input. I think that’s the video I watched that was using the free app for processing. That’s what I used but I don’t have a filter. Shooting with a DSLR and a really cheap closeup lens.

Just a quick follow up thought - if you are using a DSLR you may want to play with expanding your depth of field and focusing on one of the "mouths" in the foreground. In addition to getting a filter the best thing you can do is keep taking pictures. You are working from a reasonable starting point so now it is just a mater of dialing it in.

I played with aperture up to a 22 trying to get the depth I was looking for, but saw very little difference. But you’re right I just need to keep playing with it. I’m just envious of some of the photos I’m seeing. I’m looking at getting a submersible tube in the near future. Btw, living around PR do you go Meg hunting?

Yes, I had an official collecting permit and have collected a range of fossils and teeth and still have the shifting tray and shovel. I'll try to say this carefully and leave it at that - I was very disappointed with the lack of environmental care that I witnessed from some of my peers and realized that we do not share the same conservation ethic. I may do it again in the future but for now I needed to step away.

I’ve seen the same thing you are referring to. You really have to bite your tongue sometimes to keep from starting a fight. Done right it’s very rewarding

I agree.
